Entry into the
U.S. virgin Islands
Easy as 1-2-3 (updated January 26, 2021)
If you are an American, you DO NOT need a passport to go to any of the U.S. Virgin Islands (St. Thomas, St. John, St. Croix, Water Island) but you MUST show up to the airport with a negative Covid test - even IF you have been vaccinated.
Schedule your Covid test to be taken 5 days before departure (see graphic). CVS, Walgreens among others allow you to schedule your appointment online months in advance
and take the test via a drive-thru window.
CVS, Walgreens and others will email you a pdf test result; be sure to print this out.
We recommend downloading the pdf as well because in step 3 you will be asked to upload it.
PRINIT OUT BOTH the response from the USVI portal (typically a QRcode) AND the negative test result. Alternatively you could show the results on your mobile device as well.
You will likely need to show this paperwork to both board the plane AND upon landing in St Thomas.
NOTE: you do NOT need a Covid test when returning home unless your state requires it - the USVI is not considered a Non US entry so a negative Covid test to go back home is NOT required.
